Aloha from Hawaii, my 2000 hse began displaying a "Gearbox Overheat Refer Manual" warning.
other than the obvios, slow and stop the vehicle,...the manual hadn't any other info.
This morning I opened the gearbox fill, (why they removed the dipstick is a mystery) found she took a quart of Dexron III. I was hoping this was the problem.
This PM we took her on a short drive. Same warning. Opened up the fill again & she is still topped off.
I am guessing my next logical step is open the pan, and replace the filter, clean the magnets etc.
I did see in this or another forum... a simple problem with a "hard plastic tube" that is involved with the gearbox cooling being another bloke's hot gearbox problem cause.
Anyone with pics or description of same would be welcome. Aloha, Chris
