That sucks. Well at least you know not to take it the indie shop that missed it in the first place. Or you use it for some pricing leverage.

Just a follow up on this. I took the car to my shop and it is what I assumed. They replaced the passenger side valve cover gasket as well as injector seals and other small items. I could have lived with it for awhile as it was only a drop or two every day or so but choose to just get it fixed.

Thanks for providing closure. I may or may not have a leak . ( Not sure if all oil residue was from leaking oil filter o ring). May ignore until it starts hitting the ground. Oil seems to miss the alternator.

Dumb question: is the "right front upper timing cover" as described in that service note the same as the passenger side valve cover? I've heard that the "valve cover" is also sometimes referred to as the "timing cover". If different, is one an easier DIY than the other and can anyone point me to any other info on doing the job? My understanding is that replacing the vacuum pump is a pretty simple DIY job, is that correct?

Curious what the cost was to have that done?
