Please 94 Disco won't start

My wife came home and 2 hours later went to start her Disco, and "click". Everything went dead, no clock, lights, nothing. I can jump the truck but can't start on it's own. I replaced the battery but no luck. Is there a **** switch or something that I need to reset? Was working wonderfully before this happened. I'm new to these trucks and am a little perplexed.

After replacing the battery you need to lock and unlock the doors via the drivers door 4 or 5 times via the remote if possible, but the key will work. This should reset the security system.

Well I tried to reset the system, but I need to start the truck first. When I jump the truck it starts up just fine, but as soon as I shut it off, nothing. I can't crank or get a click. It does feel like a **** switch or something like that. I do not have the remote(bought used) but I can't use the key since there is no power to the truck.

If you can jump start it only.. even after a new battery, you either have a cable issue, or a bad starter.

I agree with Joey. Your original battery may have gone flat, but when you replaced it, you may not have tightened up the battery cables tightly. If you can jump start it, then I don't think it's not your alarm system. Was the new battery fully charged when you bought it? Just a thought.

that smells like a bad ground to me. trace the ground wire and make sure everything is nice and clean. replace the wire if need be.
