Price an extended warranty to 100K and put that in your budget. That'll give you peace of mind. I have 95,000 and my extended warranty has paid for itself several times over. All small easy stuff that didn't leave me stranded, but it is unfortunately VERY easy to work up a $1000 tab at the dealer.

On the other hand, you may find a non-dealer shop around that will service your LR3. I still haven't found one in Maryland. At a minimum, you need to connect to the computers to read the error codes and reload sw service updates, so you will be at your dealer on occasion.

Considering the weight of the vehicle, I think the gas mileage is pretty darn good. Highway driving, even at my mileage, I still get 20mpg at 70mph. That is with a storage box on the roof. Around town I'm probably under 15mpg. I don't have a long commute so it doesn't bother me too much. If I did, I'd be looking at a different vehicle for commuting.

It is a fun vehicle and a great ride. Buy it! Enjoy it!

. . .Also, if your sunroof drains haven't been "circumsized" already then I'm surprised you haven't had leaky drains to deal with. Maybe you live in Texas and keep your rig in the garage all the time....?

Houm . . . slightly off track . . . didn't they fix that in later models? I have an '08 . . .

I want to that models made after June or July of 06 were revised? Mainly electronic revisions? I read that somewhere after I bought mine.

pretty easy to find out...just pull the air vent and look for the end of the drain and see if it's been clipped.

Had mine a year!

Bought my '06 LR3 HSE with 28k on it from Car Max. Got the extended to 100k. It has 58k on it now. Done brakes once myself, super easy. Had the rear tailgate latch fixed while still under factory warranty. It's been a great truck and would have anything else. Needs tires though, going 18"s and Zeon LTZs because I use it for what it is....a 4X. Looks like you already have 18" wheels. If you are a car hypocondriac don't buy one, they are quirky.

Thanks everyone for the replies, i still haven't gotten it yet, still doing some research, but the gas mileage shouldn't affect me, from what i heard your all getting 20mpg or so, which is good enough for me.

still on the search for some extended warranty info, i was reading on another land rover forum that they offer unlimited mileage warranty for 3-4-5 yrs or so, anyone know anything about this, its from a website called auto advantage or warranty 4 wheels.

For Information regarding this, in-case you guys wanna help me out with some info, its frustrating finding some more info on the extended warranty
