radio 96 disco

I have the code from LR for my radio but it is 5 digits and I see guys talking about a 4 digit number My radio shows the word code and will not respond Ive left the ignition on for hours ,disconnected the battery and even pushed the band prior to putting in the 5 numbers.On occasion the word code just flashes Any more ides on how to get this going would be great Does anybody have a 96 dico manual they can look in for prosedure to enter radio code

When I bought my Disco the other week, the radio was saying CODE just like yours. I found the code in the mess of papers the dealership gave me and attempted to put in the code. I tried quite a few times and it would only BEEP after entering it. So, I drove to hockey and about 2 hours later, got in the truck and tried the code again and it worked! Ok, so I didn't tell you how to fix it, but maybe there's a clue in that I waited about 2 hours before trying again. And I tried it as soon as I started the truck. BTW, my code was 5 digits too.
