rear door Disco 2

Question about my Disco 2000 rear door, opening the thing is so hard, you'd think it is a bank safe, is this usual for these?? Of course it is the hinges, but any suggestions....i noticed around the back hinges there is a little rust where the hinges rotate...any easy or good solutions to make this smoother moving and cleaning up the rust so it looks better..???

Lube them with your favorite oil or rust inhibitor.

Rear door hard to operate

Also check under the door, there is a limiter and a part that slides along the underside of door. Clean it with diesel fuel, mineral spirits, charcoal lighter fluid, and then re-lubricate. But make sure the hinges are oiled well too.
I noticed the hard operating with mine and it was the bottom thing.
