First post! I have a '97 Disco with around 135k and one of the lights above my number plate was out, so I figured it was nothing more than a bulb. I went to autozone and bought a new bulb, but when I was done replacing it none of the lights worked on my rear driver's side (Niether number plate light, tail light, side marker on outside of bumber, or bumper mounted tail lights). Everything on the right side works fine. Also, My brake lights, fog lights, and turn signals still work.. has anyone else experienced this or have any recommendations beside taking to dealer.

just to be sure you got the exact right bulb, you might try taking one of the known, good ones out of the right side and put it in there temporarily.. that will at least tell you if its a problem with that bulb or with the harness itself.

I am betting you might have accidentally gotten one that looked very close but not the exact match? sometimes they have a different pattern on the bottom.... this coming from someone who fried an ENTIRE Triumph GT6 harness with the bright idea of putting an aircraft bulb in....

:) anyway, something to check, and it won't cost you anything but time.

It was the bulb. Autozone has the wrong bulb number in their database for the '97 Disco, probably other years too, but i founf the right bulb (double filament) and everything works fine. I also blew (sp?) a fuse in the rear door causing the lights above my number plate to stop working. Hope this helps if anyone is having similar problems.
