I searched - no luck:( My 2000 Disco has quite the loud racket coming from the driver's side rear window while I'm on the highway. It sounds like the door is slightly ajar -or- the window is slightly cracked. Also, I went through a touchless car wash last week to rid the Disco of salt. I got a few drips of water to come through the same window.... of course, I found the water afterwards and was not able to tell if it came through the window or the door.

I was hoping this was a common issue that had a common fix ~ if not, any ideas where to start? My dad, being old school, suggested rubbing vaseline on the rubber door moulding. I'm not real into that idea but hell, if it works....

Actually your dad may be on to something... the window is probably fine, but the seal is what your issue is, that or the door is out of adjustment. If the adjustment, just get you a set of the star ("T") drivers and adjust the lock in the door and this should be it.

If the seal, then either replace or as your dad said a little vasaline....

Hi Fellas, I also had a lot of wind noise coming from my Discos rear window, and thought the problem was door adjustment or seal, but when this door stopped opening because of lock problems and I started to effect repairs, I discovered 2 torx screws on each side of the door that when slackened, gives you upward and sideways adjustment to the window part of your door. Worked brilliantly!! no more wind noise. Give it a try.. good luck

Yesterday, I loosened the torx screws and adjusted the door, applied vaseline to the rubber door molding, AND discovered about a 2" gap where the felt lining between the window and the door frame had fallen into the door cavity. I did some testing with a water hose and found water was coming in both from the window and the frame/rubber seal.

The combination of vaseline and adjusting the window frame allowed for a better seal between the door and the rubber, which stopped the water from leaking in from the rubber. Adjusting the door frame and moving the felt liner back into place stopped water from leaking in through the window. The best part of this was the complete stoppage of the wind noise. I'm attributing that to the felt liner, but I'm sure it was a little of all 3.

Thanks all for the suggestions:)
