Hi
I have a 2002 V8 ES Disco and have a loud resonating noise at low revs (1500rpm) especially when slowing down, or in traffic. I have had many parts changed under warranty including the Ace pump but to no avail. It is just out of warranty now but I would love to find a cure. One dealer said it may be the ACE pipes touching the engine adn resonating. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Dave

The dealer that mentioned the ACE pipes was dead on. This is a normal noise that comes with the ACE package, and no I am not trying to be a smart A**. I have talked to many people and a few dealers that have told me that the ACE package can be very noise. Some Disco's never have the issue, while others you can't get it to go away.

If it was me I would try to retrofit sway bars and say good by to the ACE package, but then again I don't like extremely complicated products.

Thanks Joey. Maybe I will trace the pipework and try to establish where they are touching, if they are

Basically the ACE is a hydraulic system. Have you ever been around any larger equirment and listened to the hydraulics? They tend to be noisy.... not sure if this is a fixable noise or not... of course it could be something else, but if you have a dealer suggesting ACE, they are probably correct.
