Last year my wife was going into town and the flywheel shattered . Before she could get her foot off of the gas pedal , the engine over REVed and threw a rod into the engine block . Oil went everywhere .
I did a lot of researching and found that Land Rover UK had recalled the same year and make for bad flywheels . Land Rover North America ( Ford Motor Co .) will not say if they had a recall or not . ( That's Ford . They won't even recall there own vehicles unless the US Government tells them to .)
I can get a motor from Houston , Tx , but Land Rover North America says they will not warrant any work or warrant the vehicle any more . We have to use a Land Rover service center . That's almost $10.000 US for a new engine and labor out of our pocketbook . I'm disabled and on limited income .
They sent my wife a letter about the gas tank being recalled ( government enforced ) . She called them and explained to them about the motor and she was told to either tow it or put it on a trailer and take it to McAllen , Tx . How Dumb can you get . What good is a new gas tank when the engine is bad ???
I have been trying to find an Email address for Land Rover UK to explain what kind of IDIOTS we are dealing with .
Does anyone know the address for Land Rover UK ? We sure could use it . I'll even drink a cold one in your honor for it .
