I have had an SE on order for a couple of months and just received a call that there are significant production delays due to a shortage of engines that will push the delivery back from June to an indeterminate date.

Has anyone else with an LR3 on order heard of this and what sort of impact has it had on their delivery date.

Thanks for any replies.

There have been rumors of production delays, but I have not had anyone from Land Rover tell me that. When did you order your car? Are there any special options that you ordered that might push the order back? Did anyone tell you your initial build date?

If you were scheduled to get the car in June, I would guess that the car has (or had) a build date in April. Our latest order call was for poduction in the end of April and beginning of May. I did not have any indication that there would be production delays for that order. Actually, I've been getting vehicles a little earlier than I anticipated lately.

It seems that if your vehicle is being delayed for engine shortages, it would affect a lot of other people as well. Hmmm...curious...

Probably they are just ramping up the production of the LR3 Sport, I mean the Range Rover Sport. I'm sure they'll have to slow down the line while they get it going. My dealer said that they aren't making anymore 2005's and that production for the 2006's will commence shortly along with the RR Sport, which will be an 06 model. Makes sense, but it did come from a salesman.

They are currently still producing 2005 LR3s. It seems that they will be producing 06 RR sports and 05 LR3s at the same time on the same line.

The latest order call we got was for 2006 Range Rover, 2006 RR sport and 2005 LR3. This order call was for production through the beginning of May, so it looks like they will continue 05 LR3 production at least through then.

SteveA, was PTI/Bluetooth orderable for LR3 in your last order call? Our dealers here haven't had a LR3 order call recently.

I work here at LR in Frisco Texas and we have plenty of trucks! The only shortage of engine is the RR because it's switching to the Ford/Jag motor; Super charged is now coming out.

Our first run will be mid June.

We only have 2 HSE LR3's which are in limited production.
