Hi all,

I’m prepping my Discovery 5 for extended road trips and occasional remote or off-road travel, and I’m considering adding a vehicle signal booster kit to improve phone reception in spotty coverage areas.

I’m curious if anyone here has installed one on their Disco 5 and can share real-world experience. Does it noticeably help on highways and in rural areas?

How was the installation on the Disco, including antenna placement, power hookup, and roof rack versus body mount?

Any specific brands or pitfalls I should know before buying?

thanks in advance for any help

The weBoost amplifiers work really well.
Keep in mind, you have to have a signal for the booster to work.

Why bother? Get an InReach. In about 2 years you'll have satellite direct to device for calls and texts, so I would go the cheapest route possible for just the connectivity you really need. If you really care about connectivity, get a Starlink Mini and mount it to your RhinoRack and a second battery, and then you can stream Netflix and doomscroll TikTok wherever you go.
