I think that I am losing antifreeze that is leaking from what looks to be my radiator. How long before this affects the car? Does this have anything to do with how the car warms up?

It will effect the car warming up (at least for what the sensor or heater will show or do) remember if you are low on antifreeze, the vehicle will think it is not hot and you will not get full circulation of hot fluilds to the heater core.
If you know you are losing fluid from the radiator, replace it before you have serious issues.
Otherwise check the back of the intake manifold, this is where the LR normally leaks.
