hello all. i recently drained my battery b/c of my failed alternator. (which i replaced with the help of this excellent community!)

now my SRS light stays on. the lamp burns bright for 8s after ignition, afterwards it stays on but without the same intensity and has a slight flicker. the light came on as the battery lost charge.

i cant tell if the fuse is blown. do i need to be aware of anything when checking the srs fuse? i dont want to set off my airbags. from reading the forums it seems that i am screwed... lest it is an issue with the seatbelts.

is it true that the airbags dont work if the light is on?

is there anything else i can check.

tia.

Unfortunately, the only way to cancel out the SRS light if it stays on is to have some one like the dealer, or independant rover mechanic, extinguish it using their test book. Perhaps, after a few more starts it may do so by itsself.
It's not a good idea to play around with the fuse as an airbag deployment is
going to cost you big $.
