Hey guys, I recently made a three hour drive and noticed my steering wheel wobbling around 50- 55 mph range. The tire noise seems to be much louder here than at any other speed, and once I get above this speed the wobble and loud tire noise go away. Also, once I begin to stop like down to 1 or 2 mph the brakes seem to get a rough feeling in them as if its not stopping smoothly. I have mud terrains on the LR3 and I don't ever recall having such loud noise at the speed or the problem with breaking. I realize the wobble comes from needing my tires balanced, but is the excessive noise and rough breaking associated with this? Thanks

Sounds like it could be cupped tires.

Mine has this same wobble (Also at 55ish). It isn't the tires/wheels in my case as I have brandnew tires. I also replaced brandnew tires and it was still there. I do have a bushing going bad on the front right corner. I intend to replace that and get the alignment done. Hopefully that solves the issue.

Go to your local tire store and have the tires inspected, sounds like one is either failing or way out of balance.

What are cupped tires?
Uneven tire wear either on the inside our outside edge, usually because of an alignment issue (such as excessive camber) or possibly other suspension issues.

It gives the edge a "stepped" wear pattern, which will cause road noise and the bumpy feeling right before you come to a full stop (like you described). You can often visually see it, or feel it when you run your hand along the inner or outer edge of the tread.

Hi, has the wobbling been solved? I have the same problem between 90-110kms and when i apply the brake at high speed, ie 120-150kms. Appreciate feedback.

You need to pay attention to the dates on the posts that you read, That was an issue from over a year and a half ago.
If you have a problem, start a new thread and describe in great detail what is going on with your truck, don't worry about his old issue.
