Taking the door pulls (handles) off a 2003 Range Rover

Everyone knows the paint on the door handles gets bad and flakes off on this model. I want to take mine off and re-paint them. I think I need to take off the interior door skin to get to bolts inside the door. Is this true or can I somehow pry out the door handles?
