hi new to this forum and in need of some help with a td4 fault , the engine has started smoking , it only smokes at 2000 2500 rpm befor and after that its find , the smoke is white and smells ( unburnt fuel ) the freelander runs fine pulls well ticks over well , its been checked for fault codes and is ok ,so far i have checked and changed with new parts , fuel filter , mas senser , air filter , crank breather filter , boost controler , manifold gasket , injectors , manifold pressure switch , turbo hoses have been checked not replaced , not realy sure what to check next really stuck , i have looked at a frends td4 i disconected his manifold pressure switch and it did the same as mine so i replaced mine and still no luck , if you realy drive mine hard govener in every gear it will clear with no smoke at all turn it off and leave for 30 mins and the faults back , could it be a turbo fault or intercooler ? seems to pull well , any help would be really apprecated , forgot to say cat has been removed and the erg valve

You know what you are doing. So, replace the manifold pressure switch again and verify electrical connection. You are looking right at the problem so the "other opinion" which is cheap should be tried.
