Hello all,
I brought this up a few months back and want to hear again from others on what they have. I for the most part am happy with all the factory goodies that came with my LR3. I just want to get an idea of what you all have put on or want to put on yours. I also would like to hear about what you wish the market had for your Rover. I "Product Review" sticky on this forum would be sweet. I worked in a speed shop/parts house for 10 years. Its hard to keep anything stock.

Anyone using any good seatcovers?

Accessories

We are starting development of a product line for the LR3 next week begining with interior upgrades. The kind of level of quality you'd see on a Bentley. The dealer who sold us the LR3 had a Bentley in the showroom and our designs are remarkably similar (by accident).

This photo will give you a taste of some of the work we've done on Porsche:

excellent work. its good to see someone taking interest in the LR3. I hope the product lines expand. I know there will never be a demand like more "popular" SUV's, but i still like to see options for those of us who choose to pilot the LR3.

Anyone, have this molded dash kit? I am interested in the 3 piece molded kit for the center console in low gloss carbon fiber.

Old school

It's been years since I sat in a Jag and a friend showed up with a mid 80's XJ6 Sovereign yesterday to get some work done in our new shop. The car is a bit of a restoration project.

Real wood dash, individual instruments, old school construction. Solid beast, reminded me of aircraft or a vintage lake boat.

I guess that stayed with me because after seeing that imitation molded piece on the link above, I'm thinking we should go retro on the LR3 in the fine British tradition. Real wood, like a guitar, satin finishes. Offset by 5052 Aluminum alloys, stainless or bronze alloy. Some metal trims. Nothing too shiny. Handfinished, genuine materials.

You might want to check these out as they are direct replacement rather than stick on like the LR trim HTH

thanks for the link. that stuff is the best yet, replacement is way better than overlay. i have dealt with many wood dash companies over the years. some of our customers preferred synthetic over real wood. i would never do my rover wrong with synthetics. Some wood you can get away with. But faux carbon fiber is just terrible. i really like carbon, we used to make panels and clusters for some track cars and it was not for asthetics but always looks good when its done right. only the best for my LR. Ill have to look into it more.

most people think they are really sitting on real leather. dont know about the LR's, but i can certainly tell you that we have replaced lots of vinyl in $40K+ vehicles. fact is, that it usually last longer.

That is a good link. Called them up. This is a re-surface lamination process done overseas using orig factory parts. Something we've had requests for with our Porsche line as well. That's cool. At the end of the day it's all surface treatments (stick or otherwise). For the LR3 program I wanted to get away from shiny to more authentic satin finishes, like leather or oiled hardwoods.

Speaking of leather - In the design I will probably mix leather, wood and metal (alum or stainless) in on the background surface designs, with CNC alloy parts for knobs etc.
