    no amps provide power to run a bass speaker....in order to provide the deep tones more power is necessary to power them, so an amplifier (amp) is installed between your stereo main unit and you subwoofer (bass speaker)

    Also it could be clogged catallitic convertors clogging up your exhaust, nothing bogs down a vehicle like clogged exhaust. Also could be Throttle positioning sensors, O2 sensors, etc.... but most of these things as well as a blown head gasket should show a service light...unless someone...
