Took my LR3 to the dealer and now this...
I had something similar happen to me. Took it back to the dealer. They said they had rotated the tires after replacing the tie rods (or whatever it was at the time, I forget). They then un-rotated the tires (put them back where they were originally), and the vibrating steering wheel went... -

Whistling sound
When I first got my '05 LR3, I had the second issue you describe. The LR3 was in warranty at the time and the dealership fixed it very quickly when the truck was in for a service--new clips/tighter fit/no noise. -

LR3 with NO radio/CD volume
My radio had a similar-sounding problem (2005 LR3) a couple years ago. The fix was (allegedly) replacement of memory chips or memory buffers. In short, the radio unit "core" did not need to be replaced, but the memory (and the firmware on the memory) was zapped. The memory cannot be separated... -

Tailgate will not open
That was probably me -- I had just loaded and unloaded a large gas grill before mine failed. I'm not sure how that would have caused the problem--but it seemed more than a coincidence at the time. -
