Took my LR3 to the dealer and now this...

I had something similar happen to me. Took it back to the dealer. They said they had rotated the tires after replacing the tie rods (or whatever it was at the time, I forget). They then un-rotated the tires (put them back where they were originally), and the vibrating steering wheel went...

    Trunk Latch Issue

Parts = $235 Plus labor. I can't figure out the labor because multiple items were repaired. Maybe $150.

    Trunk Latch Issue

I'll see if I can dig out the most recent receipt tomorrow. The first one I believe was covered by the original LR warranty.

    Trunk Latch Issue

Search this forum. Happens every 2.5 years. Silly design inside the tailgate. I just have the dealership break into the truck and open up the tailgate and replace the failed part. It is a pain when the trunk is full up with stuff. And, replacement is not free. Others on this forum have...

    Door Trim Removal (Exterior)

Mine came off one door when I whacked a snowbank with the door (when closing it). I pounded it back in with the palm of my hand. I listened for the "pop" on each clip. This was 4 years ago. No problems since. I also overloaded my truck a couple months ago with a door open (a different...

    Ambient Temperature Guage

Isn't that "plug" the sensor? It just isn't attached to a bracket?

    Ambient Temperature Guage

The ambient temperature gauge on the dash of my 05 LR3 has suddenly (after I had the suspension compressor replaced) begun reading truly preposterously high temperatures. Two questions: (1) where is the gauge so I can see if it is covered in something (or otherwise physically looks messed...

    AUX. Input HELP?

Do you have a 1-2 mm drill bit for metal? Drive in (carefully), push down slightly, and pull out. And good luck.

    Whistling sound

When I first got my '05 LR3, I had the second issue you describe. The LR3 was in warranty at the time and the dealership fixed it very quickly when the truck was in for a service--new clips/tighter fit/no noise.

    LR3 with NO radio/CD volume

My radio had a similar-sounding problem (2005 LR3) a couple years ago. The fix was (allegedly) replacement of memory chips or memory buffers. In short, the radio unit "core" did not need to be replaced, but the memory (and the firmware on the memory) was zapped. The memory cannot be separated...

    Tailgate will not open

That was probably me -- I had just loaded and unloaded a large gas grill before mine failed. I'm not sure how that would have caused the problem--but it seemed more than a coincidence at the time.

    Gas Cap

It's funny this thread came up now. I was at the dealer's yesterday, getting my gas cap door fixed (wouldn't stay shut) and the tech and I were checking out the gas cap doors on the other cars in the lot. And one was locked (the LR3 was turned off). I asked if that was a new feature on the...

    Gas Cap

At least with my '05, a locking gas cap was not a feature in the US. What year is yours?

I had a serpentine belt issue that was louder than a tapping; more like a scraping. But it occurred under similar circumstances.

"Whistle" from center console vent area

dantheman1 -- do you hear the noise only when the radio is ON?

Mine is inside too, but I will check tonight if there is any outside noise.

"Whistle" from center console vent area

I have an intermittent "whistle" that comes from the center console vent area of my 2005 LR3 SE7. It occurs when the A/C or heat is on. I can sometimes completely eliminate the symptom by changing fan speed. ["Off" completely eliminates it, and very high or very low sometimes does as...

    Coolant Leak

Update The official word from the dealership is that, when they put in new coolant after fixing the leak, there was an "air bubble" in the cooling system. It seems odd that it would be of such a size as to displace 18 to 24oz of coolant, but we'll see. They pressure-tested the line and no...

    06 SE V8 Pre-purchase inspection today

Although I had to have that done twice to fix the lurching problem. I think a bunch of people on this site did too.

    Coolant Leak

Yeah, obviously. I was just asking because I have found that the technicians fix problems better when I have found the source of the problem before I brought the truck in.

    Coolant Leak

Since a routine LR service to check and top off fluids and perform an oil change about a month ago (coincidence?), I have had a steady leak in my coolant, approximately 6 oz/day. I took it to the dealer, who reported finding the leak in the "lower radiator hose" and "oil cooler" and replaced...

    Hail Storms and the LR3

Update Well, now that I've actually washed and waxed the LR3, I appear to have mis-spoken. Three dings (easily removed) and 4 paint strikes (through the clear coat and the color, not so easily fixed). For what its worth, the roof glass if fine....:-)

    Hail Storms and the LR3

I just went through a huge one in South Dakota -- driving at 55 mph through marble sized hail for 40 minutes. No dents; no cracks. Ironically, three days later a highway rock would crack my windshield badly.
