I had something similar happen to me. Took it back to the dealer. They said they had rotated the tires after replacing the tie rods (or whatever it was at the time, I forget). They then un-rotated the tires (put them back where they were originally), and the vibrating steering wheel went... -

Whistling sound
When I first got my '05 LR3, I had the second issue you describe. The LR3 was in warranty at the time and the dealership fixed it very quickly when the truck was in for a service--new clips/tighter fit/no noise. -

LR3 with NO radio/CD volume
My radio had a similar-sounding problem (2005 LR3) a couple years ago. The fix was (allegedly) replacement of memory chips or memory buffers. In short, the radio unit "core" did not need to be replaced, but the memory (and the firmware on the memory) was zapped. The memory cannot be separated... -

Update Well, now that I've actually washed and waxed the LR3, I appear to have mis-spoken. Three dings (easily removed) and 4 paint strikes (through the clear coat and the color, not so easily fixed). For what its worth, the roof glass if fine....:-) -

Hail Storms and the LR3
I just went through a huge one in South Dakota -- driving at 55 mph through marble sized hail for 40 minutes. No dents; no cracks. Ironically, three days later a highway rock would crack my windshield badly.
