Ok - I did something stupid. I forgot the rear glass for was up and closed the garage door which went back up due to the entanglement and then broke one of the the shocker struts. I can see you guys rolling your eyes now, so stop it! ;-)
Question:
1. I saw online that it's part number...
Do you guys think it is worth it doing to an independent LR mechanic for the servicing / top offs / oil change and pay $250-300 or go PepBoys and pay $40 with a coupon for synthetic oil change (do they do all other top offs?)?
OK - I should have clarified. I fill up the tank every time and then drive it about ~25 miles past the reserve indicator - so I am guessing that the gas is almost empty.
The capacity of the tank is 22 miles. So I am getting ~14.5 mpg.
Interesting, I have a 5 series BMW as well and it gives...
I drive 90% in stop and go city traffic. I am getting 320 miles on my 2007 LR3. Is that decent mileage or I can do better?
Any tips on improving my mileage?
Is it fine to take the LR3 to a regular car wash where they attach it to the rails for the automated wash and then wipe it up? Would it damage the wheels? Or shall I go for a 100% hand wash?
My wheels are dirty. A storm is supposed to be coming every day now in LA but nothing yet.
So if the current box styled LR4 will be discontinued in favor of the newly designed Discovery, does that mean that the prices of the used (pre-owned) box styled LR4's will crash?
I am planning on moving to a new LR mechanic after getting some great referrals. This shop only does LRs and seems to be great at it.
The main mechanic told me two things:
1. He recommends doing car service every 3,500 miles given that city driving is hard on the car with frequent stop...
Thanks guys - so bottom line is that if I want the current body style, I should get it quickly. If I wait till next year, I might get the new body style. Correct?
Thanks. Does that mean that there will be no new version of LR4 also coming out next year for 2017? So if I end up buying the LR4 2016, this might be the last production year for it!
I don't like the shape and looks of the discovery!
My sister has 3 toddlers. She loves my LR3 but thinks it is not practical for her due to the absence of cargo space if the 3rd seats are up. She wants to buy an Odyssey instead as she thinks it is more practical for her family needs.
How do you suggest I convince her to buy the LR4 instead...
Thanks a lot, everyone for your awesome replies. Does anyone carry extra coolant and engine oil as well?
I always carry it for my bimmer and it has been very helpful to me especially in hot summers.
If recommended to carry, which brands do you suggest I buy and keep in my truck?
Thanks jwest. I just checked online for the corrosion and anti perforation and supposedly that warranty is only offered for 6 years. Sucks. I did show it to a body shop today and they suggested that it is some oxidation / sun burn that has happened by being in the sun too long. Their plan to...

Hello,
I bought my 2007 LR3 couple of months ago and have been loving every moment of it. I have been doing a few sorter road trips but after reading forums of others' experiences, I always have anxiety of the next xmas light on my dashboard.
What tools and parts do you recommend I always...
So I went out to pick up some Chinese take-out and on my way home, the smell of food was all inside my car. I realized that I need a better solution to carry food in the car. What have you guys done for this problem? Thanks
