Hi All
I know there have been other threads on Oxygen Sensor replacement, but I replaced one about 6 months ago and now the codes say its bad again???? Details below:
I have a 2000 Discovery II with 85,000 miles on in. About 6 months ago, the Service Engine Soon (SES) light came on, and I had a code P0130 (no other codes). I replaced the bank 1 sensor 1 Oxygen Sensor (Left Driver's side, in the front), (Bosch sensor from Autozone I think) and cleared the codes and everything was fine.
However, my SES light has come back on and I have the P0130 code again, and it has only six months after replacing this O2 sensor.
Is it possible that this sensor has gone bad in 6 months (no receipt, doubt they will cover the sensor under warranty)? Could it be something else? The O2 connector plug looks greasy (probably from leaking head gaskets), but not too bad? Any other ideas or should I just replace O2 sensor again?
Also, any suggestions on getting the connector plug disconnected and reconnected on the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor. That thing is really hard to reach!!!!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. THANKS
Lee
