Can we set Nav screen to default off?

I searched all the threads on this site and other sites; does anyone else just want the screen to be off unless needed? Am I the only one? Is there a setting I can change to have it like that?

Forgot to mention; I have a 2005 LR3 HSE. Some reason my sig isn't attaching? Oh..now it is. How can I change my posting rules? Some reason Vcode isn't on...well none of them are.

No. I'd also like it to default to off if it was "off" before the car was shutdown, but it doesn't. At least if you leave it on the screen with the "screen off" option, it just takes one press to shut it off again next start.

A friend of mine used a rubber mat cut to perfectly cover the screen.
