Hope you have room for one more. If things open up I should be able to join you also, I'm in Longmont.

Where are you thinking of leaving from?

Not to hijack, but are any of you doing the rafting trip with LR Flatirons?

Of course! It would be great to get a bunch of Rovers on a trail! If we do a trail near Boulder, it would probably be best to meet up at a gas station in Boulder. Hopefully one of the area residents can help pick a spot as the date gets closer.

I haven't heard anything about the rafting trip...

How about the Liquor Mart parking lot on Canyon and 15th. It's a big lot that should be too busy in the morning. How about 10:00am?

Thanks nwoods. So far I plan to attend this year's rally.

Are you taking your storm trooper LR3 to the rally?

Sadly no, can't make it out this year. Saving my Bennies for the Rubicon Trail

This sounds like a good meeting place. Any preferences on where to go? Experience/comfort level with trail difficulty? I'm pretty familiar with Bunce School Rd leading up to the ironclads, any stock LR3 can make that. I have not done the actual Ironclads though, always chickened out.

Pole Hill Rd would be another great beginner run, and in my experience has less traffic than the Bunce network, but PHR is still closed:

I'm not going on the rafting trip, water is not my thing. I did do a run with the Flatirons last summer and that would also be a good group run, but I can't remember the name of it. Halfway up to Estes, off to the left? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Ok, figured out what I ran last summer with Flatirons - Johnny Park Rd, which is marked as open.

For people who aren't familiar with any of these runs, here are some links from Traildamage:

Johnny Park: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=103
Ironclads: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=175
Bunce School Rd: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=123

And the whole traildamage map for CO:

We could always do Lefthand, but I think a weekend with traffic could be a pain with multiple wide vehicles (only done it on 2 wheels).

Bunce and Ironclads sounds fun. Maybe Middle St. Vrain and Coney Flats will be open for a little extra challenge as well. I haven't done any of these yet, so it all sounds great.

I have done Left Hand Canyon a lot lately and unfortunately all the fun runs have a lot of Rocky Mountain Pin Strips involved and too much traffic. I think any more than two or three trucks would be tough there.
