Ignition switch locked up today any other options besides dropping $700 for a new one from dealer. read post on pulling it and grinding down brass pins, not really the kind of fix I wanna do. Any aftermarket vendors making them?

No after market vendors. Not sure where you got the $700 quote and what it included. You have 2 choices, buy a vinn specific new switch from Rover with the same key as you currently have or buy a good guaranteed used one, but will come with a different key so you would have 2 different keys.
If you want a used one for nearly cheap, get back to me.
