Hi,

I'm new to Land Rover and suddenly (1 month later) need to replace the Plenum and both valve motors in my '04 Freelander. Question: The mechanic yesterday cleared the codes (at least the lights are off for now), and the Freelander is drivable. It drives fine - just a tiny little flutter in the engine noise. How long do I have before I NEED to get this done?

I've been researching parts - I've already found that I can save $700 if I buy the parts myself. I know the mechanic will just LOVE that. But I really just need to know what kind of timeline I'm looking at.

Thanks,
Ben

HI, blingenfelter.
Maybe you need change you Plenum, both on a first time verify if you have oil inside the Plenum, but you need will seal the Plenum after. Inside of the Plenum exist a plastic plates with a rubber seal, when those are broken generated the flutter engine noise. When the oil inside the Plenum is hot, made leak on the rubber seals.
