Thank you for the update.

had our first snow of the year only 3 inches but enough to freeze all the roadways and i gotta say these tires did awesome, probably pulled 15 different cars up slick hills including a 4x4 4runner and gave a number of folks a ride home who had to abandoned their cars on hills, these tires performance in snow and the weight of the LR4 it was unstoppable

a huge improvement over stock tires and even over the scorpion atr

New shoes, went with GY Wrangler A/T Adventures 255/60/19 and it's a really smooth ride. Will get some more miles and dirt under and report back.

From what im hearing, the GY Wrangler Adventures are not a whole lot different than my GY Wrangler Silent Armors, maybe just a newer model of the same idea. Mine are on 18's but I'd definitely consider putting these on my stock 19's when the crap oe tires are gone.

How tall are these measuring out when on the vehicle?

They add around a half inch to overall, but not sure the height. I will try and remember to measure for you.

This may be a dumb question, but I'm looking at getting new tires for my 2011 LR4 and was curious if anyone had any antidotal knowledge or evidence if the larger Wrangler Adventures are more or less fuel efficient than the Cooper Zeons?

Thanks,

So, went through some Bill Burke training this weekend in SW Virginia and overall, I have to say that the Wrangler Adventures were not great. They were definitely a step up from the Contis. I have not tried the Cooper Zeons, so can not comment on how they would perform in that muddy and rocky area. I may have been expecting a bit too much, though. In the snow and ice we've had here, they have been absolutely great! When it's time for new tires, I will go with 18"s and spacers and get the Nittos.

GT Wrangler AT Adv Update: Avoid if you do any moderate wheeling. I have lost 2 now due to sidewall punctures, and only one could I possibly see occurring. The OEMs withstood greater punishment. Your choices are either the 18" + spacers or Cooper Zeons, IMHO. Goodyear has been kind enough to replace the 2 tires for free, but I have a feeling this will be a recurring problem. Now, on snow and ice they have been great. I have put about 1,000 miles on the tires with 3 trips in the dirt. When the time to replace these comes, I will not hesitate to find 18" wheels, spacers and better tires.

I almost cancelled my order with Compomotive last year when the GT Wranglers ATs came out in the 19" wheel size, but decided that I really wanted options. I have the BFG A/T KOs on my 18" and I absolutely love them - have been incredible in many terrains and not even a scratch (or puncture) in some sharp rocky terrain. I will say, they are not great in the thick mud, but that is completely to be expected - you really need MTs in that terrain.

I also like that they are E load rated and heavy duty because my vehicle is pretty heavy now. I will probably stick to the BFGs, unless I decide to go with an MT; however, I don't really like the mud.

Goodyear USA's web site now lists a 255/55R19 size in their Wrangler DuraTracs, a more aggressive and likely capable A/T - M/T "hybrid" than the Adventures discussed above. Besides the unfortunately short sidewall, there is a lot to like about the Duratracs on paper. That size is not E-range (XL only), but they have a good 111 load index - good enough for the LR4 - they are snow rated and have a decent speed index, so they should be good on the road as well, albeit a bit noisy I imagine. Something new to consider if you don't want to downsize to 18s. Nobody has them in stock yet, but they are probably coming soon. They have been available for a while in Europe, and lots of Disco3 and 4 owners rave about them on UK forums.
