Hi all,

I have been thumbing through a few threads regarding the GAPIID tool and all of its capabilities. I was wondering if everyone wouldn't mind having a big thread of all the handy updates/upgrades you can do with your GAP tool that does not require any massive installations. I know I am certainly interested in it. I saw someone updated his panel display to the newer 2013-2016 display that is "curvier". What are some other items you can change through the app that are nice additions or changes to have?

I programmed a new Rover key for my 2012 LR4.
Turned off the parking sensor alarm (as I have a rack on the back).
Cleared some warnings.
Set the normal ride height up an inch ( why not).

I’m decided to buy a GAP IID tool for my LR4 2011, but I’m tempted to get an iLand tool instead... any suggestion?. Thanks!

Can't speak directly to the Iland Tool as I haven't used it.

However, there is a great deal more "hive" knowledge on the IIDTool out there on several forums. Additionally, I can verify that Patrick at GAP is very responsive to inquiries regarding any issue I have ever had. Responsive as in it is not uncommon to receive a reply within a few minutes.

That responsiveness alone will keep me with GAP, as you really can "brick" your truck with these tools if things go sideways.

I can’t speak to iland either. My guess is functionality is relatively similar, but I’ve got to say, Atlantic British, as much as I love them, is terrible in support. I’m still waiting on call backs on two product related questions I had in October- seriously.

I can also attest that Patrick is amazing with Gap IID. For that reason alone, I’d spend the extra $100 and go with Gap.

Didn't I hear that iLand doesn't program replacement keyfobs for the LR4, which is one of the most common uses of the GAP?

I think that’s right. I do know that you can use iland on multiple of the same models (not vin locked), whereas the gap tool is locked to specific vin.

I have the iLand tool and am quite disappointed with it. Unable to change anything on my ‘13 LR4. It could be that I’m not looking in the right spot, but I feel like I have exhausted all possibilities while in the app. Last thing for me to do is call for help. Need to do that before I drop another bunch of $$ on the Gap tool.
