Just so you know OP, the HD package adds a rear locker and a low range center diff on the '14 and newer vehicles. The low range center diff is pretty much a must if you go off road.

Even if you don't go off road, however, the HD package is something that's probably going to start affecting the resale values of these in about 3 to 4 years, I would guess--around the time Joe Sixpack Overlander is looking at LR4s. So, while you might not care now, it could be a factor in the future. The issue is that it seems like only about 1 in 15 LR4s have the HD package, which means the odds of you finding one with the mileage you want and the options you want are very slim.

@ryanjl no HD package in this one. but i dont offroad in the slightest. Impact on resale value makes sense - but with such low mileage, i'm hoping i own this thing for 10+ years!

I'd only been looking at 15s or 16s but im picky about the wheels - i want 10 spoke. it seemed everything with low enough miles had the 7 spoke. then low miles & black design pkg on this 14 were enough to grab my attention. i think i'm hearing a consensus of, "i love my 13 v8 but if i was looking for 14+ scv6 this would be a good buy & fair deal if you're okay with no HD" .. right?!

because i will be the cliche rover owner - mall crawling 80% of time, other 20% will be road tripping. camping in a corn field a few times a summer in iowa at a concert venue doesnt require much mechanically for terrain purposes so i think i'm gonna give it a go!

Sounds like a good one, then.

As far as the wheels go, those can be swapped out pretty easily. You can find used ones either on Craigslist, eBay, etc. So if you find the perfect one minus the wheels, it shouldn't be a dealbreaker.

Sounds like a fair deal based on mileage and condition you describe with a good service history. With what you plan to use it for I would not worry about the HD package. Does it come with a certified pre owned warranty (or the balance of one as they are transferable)? That can help to lessen any fears of expensive repairs in the near future...

LOL - seems like someone got some sense knocked into them after the 2nd one. :)
Also - on the topic of the tan interior I'm with you. I'll never go back to black or dark gray after having the tan. Love how it makes the entire inside feel so open and huge compared to the dark interior.
I'm pretty sure I found the ride you're looking at and it has the external black pack with the tan interior. That's a priceless combo and it looks sweet!

@TheWidup RIGHT!!! i need to clue my bf in on this - i think hes been doing the 15K mile oil change - but then again, he said hes gonna give his lr4 to his 16 y.o. twins and buy a RR autobiog - clearly we have different budgets ha.

i was too afraid to post link in fear someone might jump on it ahead of me!!! the only way i can describe the combo is ****! my bfs is black on black - the thing literally just ROASTS while ur at work all day. no Fkn thanks! so my rules were 1. tan interior 2. white, silver, grey or some varying shade of tan. 3. 10 spoke

the massive amount of room inside the lr4 is exactly why i love it specifically the way the drivers seat positioning feels. its not like riding in a truck where your shoulder is at a 90 degree angle to have ur arm out the window. its like sitting in a chair, so much more relaxed but you ride up high and have so much flipping space. i showed my dad and he doesnt care for the boxy look - but i can't wait to take him for a ride bc i know he'll change his mind instantly. hes a big dude - 6'1 300 lbs and drives an x3 lol - he'll love the space inside.

On your way back to Iowa you could swing by and we'll swap wheels. :) I'd love those black ones over my silver 10 spoke OEMs.

@TheWidup lol! so i just looked at your pic! the only way i was willing to settle for black body was with silver wheels and tan interior - but bc ive been stalking rover market im hyper aware to the lr4s in my town. there are 5. 3 are black. other 2 are blue - so i want to separate from the "masses" :)

Yeah, my only regret is that I jumped on the Black one with Tan (almost bought a '12 with Green / Tan) without holding out for a White edition with Tan. I wanted out of my sh*tbox F150 ASAP and pounced on the '13 because it only had 24k miles after 4 years. :)

@wportervt - it has very minimal factory warranty left. the dealer isn't near me so i dont want to buy 3rd party from them. luckily in my town of 60K a friend of mine from hs owns a shop in town and only works on foreign cars. has a 13 lr4 himself - incredibly knowledgable - so i do trust him to be fair and honest. The closest LR dealer would be 1.5 hours away.
