I hope this doesn't look good in person, I can't afford to trade the Sequoia I just bought...
It doesn't; be patient for another three years when styling does a "refresh". They can sort the front end, replace the minicar image and give it a grownup look.

As to the rear, styling can put visible taillights back there and when the 130 comes out, put the spare underneath. Currently, even the 110 is just too short.

The side view looks OK, but the good news is the value of our 3's and 4's will start rising. People aspiring to a LR will realize they are interior wise, bigger, and re the engine, well a V8 beats a straight 4 or 6.

I recall back in the eighties, Chev had a 292 (4.8L) straight six - something LR might want to consider if the current six goes the way most LR engines do. Why LR does not stick with the 4.4L petrol V8 for NAS vehicles is something I have yet to understand. I am certain Ford could be convinced to keep building it.

I guess there is hope; in the meantime, I will continue to enjoy my 3.

Yeah, JLR really f''d up o this one. I've sat in them and they look and feel cheap. The interior feels like an early model KIA Soul. Cheap looking and cheap feeling. If you are rolling an LR4 right now, there is no way you are going to think this is a comparable vehicle. The price they are charging for this is just silly. I suspect they will sell out the first bunch to the posers and then, on the lot they'll sit.

What JLR fails to understand is that you can't charge that kind of money without the feeling of luxury, even MB figured that out. Purpose build 4wd that is not up to the purpose built task with no refinement and a ridiculous price tag simply will not sell past the "got be first to have it" crowd,

This is a huge, swing and a miss with JLR. The questions is not whether this vehicle will be a failure or not, that ship, IMHO has sailed. The questions are 1) will JLR price this properly (Jeep area pricing) or reimagine with next rev. If they do neither, this is baby Jag all over again.

There is a you tube video from Powerful UK Ltd where he's actually driving home from the dealership with like 24 miles on it and the system failure light comes on. Here it isat around 17:53:

Well they made it to their shop, maybe forty miles without an actual breakdown; in spite of the red problem light, the Defender did not go to the stops either.

It seems that there is some sort of a cancel or defer button to hide the big red light and instead one gets a small red light so LR must have planned for this. I guess that is good; there is apparently a learning curve.

The 110 sure is small compared to a 3 or 4. It is really evident in the rear - maybe space for some groceries but none of that tent or kitchen stuff - that is yesterday. The dog best be small or there be no kids and the rear seats will have to be down to accommodate Lassie. A 90 is probably a tall version of a Mini.

My roll up blind type rear hatch cover looks pretty splash compared to the effort the Defender provides but then it so small back there, there really is no need for a cover.

The presenter is a good actor as he certainly seems positive and the cameraman held his tongue.

Their cell phone did pair with the Bluetooth easily so that worked.

I think they should have used a column shifter; would have looked better than whatever is there - well maybe that round dial I do not like but seems to be common on expensive vehicles now. I think the Park position is somehow messed up as well. That we will find out about if Defender drivers start backing into whatever is behind instead of doing the Park thing.

My 3 sure looks good.
