I have 2012 LR4 LUX limited with rare brown interior. Have 160k on it and around 90k under warranty the timing chains had to be upgraded along with all the other usual suspects that should be changed around that time.
It was a 12k job under warranty and no problems since then….
Except- tail gate actuator, front upper control arms, front sway bar bushing and links, front lower control arms, front struts because the bolts from the arm were fused to the strut, rear upper and lower hub knuckle bushings, rear lower and upper control arms, all 4 calipers, rear sway bar bushings, suspension motor, valve block, driver side drive shaft, battery and probably a few more things I have not thought of yet! Lol
Side note: I LOVE MY LR4 and and so do my kids!!!! They even help me keep it clean
I do need to mention that half of all the things I mention are normal problems to have at 160k not just for a Land Rover, for any car really.
Shelling out 4 to 5k on parts I could replace my self is not a big deal if you buy the right tools to do the job. It’s 1/3 the cost of the dealership.
They are plenty of YouTube videos out there to help and they have for me!

Normal problems? Sort of but I would revise that to "normal problems for a complex vehicle". Short story is my Land Rover takes about double the amount of $/mile for maintenance than my Honda. It is also much more vehicle than the Honda. The LR4 is not the type of vehicle you want to pile miles on especially as they get older but they do make for a great niche vehicle in the stable.

Whenever people talk about reliability and problems, I'm struck by the aspect of perspective. For a lot of people, it seems to me that "reliability" means "how long can I do nothing for this vehicle before it bites me in the ass?" To me, reliability means "how long can this vehicle last if it is ideally cared for?"

This is why I bought an LR4 instead of a Land Cruiser. I can, and do, take care of my own vehicles. The LR4, when cared for properly, will feel more special in 10 years when I have 250K miles on it. A Land Cruiser would take less effort to get to 250K miles, but I wouldn't be interested in getting there, because so many people achieve that milestone by doing nothing to preserve the car.

Just turned 70K and it's been great. 2015 LR4 HSE Lux. Just did a 1,000 mile round trip for the Bourbon Trail and I averaged 22 on the highway and 19 combined. 25 bottles of bourbon and luggage for two (ok, maybe three if you ever saw my wife pack) and all the room in the world. It's my go-to city car here in Chicago and swallows potholes and traffic like it doesn't exist. Can't say that of my other cars, of which I have 6 here.

22 HWY/19 combined is amazing.
Ehh, if they're going off the trip meter I can almost promise that it's wrong. Calculate a few tanks by hand. My car is about 8% off (I've since calibrated it with my GAP tool and it reads more accurately now)

Yes, the trip meter is off in mine too, almost like it's using uk gallons (4l) vs us gallons (3.78l). How do you calibrate?

There's a setting on the GAP Tool in the CCF. I think its under instrument cluster or something. I won't be around my car for a few days but I can find the setting if no one else does when I get back.

Living in a former colony squished between these two countries. Imperial gallon is actually 4.55 litres and a US gallon 3.785. The difference is 20% Can we just toss all these out and use the metric system?

Oh, weird, in my time in NZ, I found out their cup measure was 250ml, so I figured 16 cups makes a gallon, thus 4l. things I learn!
