I have 2012 LR4 LUX limited with rare brown interior. Have 160k on it and around 90k under warranty the timing chains had to be upgraded along with all the other usual suspects that should be changed around that time.
It was a 12k job under warranty and no problems since then….
Except- tail gate actuator, front upper control arms, front sway bar bushing and links, front lower control arms, front struts because the bolts from the arm were fused to the strut, rear upper and lower hub knuckle bushings, rear lower and upper control arms, all 4 calipers, rear sway bar bushings, suspension motor, valve block, driver side drive shaft, battery and probably a few more things I have not thought of yet! Lol
Side note: I LOVE MY LR4 and and so do my kids!!!! They even help me keep it clean
I do need to mention that half of all the things I mention are normal problems to have at 160k not just for a Land Rover, for any car really.
Shelling out 4 to 5k on parts I could replace my self is not a big deal if you buy the right tools to do the job. It’s 1/3 the cost of the dealership.
They are plenty of YouTube videos out there to help and they have for me!
