Horrifically loud static coming out of all speakers.
2006 Land Rover LR3 HSE
So...I have searched everywhere I can think and have not found anyone with this problem.

Wife calls me the other day in a panic.
There's something wrong. It sounds like a jackhammer coming out of my speakers!

I leave work and rush over there and boy was she right.
I was 10' away from the vehicle and could hear it clear as day.
There was full blast static coming out of every speaker in the car.

It started when she walked up to the car and hit the unlock button on the remote effectively "waking the car up"

I cannot for the life of me figure out what's causing this.
I pulled the 30amp fuse behind the glovebox for what i think is the amp and it turned off. No audio at all so at least we won't go deaf.
Yesterday I put it back in and static came right on full blast.
I pulled the bluetooth fuse and the static stopped but still no audio and that froze the navigation screen to "Land Rover"

Anyone heard of this problem or have any ideas on how to fix?
Its really a bummer not having that wonderful sounding stereo while we drive.

*Update info*
I have been trying to troubleshoot this morning. Here is what I did and what i found.

The fuse controlling the bluetooth module seems to cause issue with the head unit.
With the fuse out there is no visible volume control on the display
With the fuse in I get the visual audio control back but would get horrific static if the amp was powered.

I thought at some point there might be a short inside the amp causing the full blast static but...
I put all the fuses back in and pulled the optical most connector from the amp. That is what is triggering the static.
Plugged in massive static. Unplugged all is quiet.
Could it still be the amp? I'm really lost on what to do next.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

jwlitt1 I have a (new to me) 08 LR3 HSE and I'm getting similar symptoms. Intermittently my drivers door speaker will have a loud GRRRRR... sound. The only way to stop it is to shut the vehicle off and re start it. it rained the other day and I left the sunroof angled open and the symptoms got worse, no water got on the seats or dash or anyway inside. I have pulled the drivers door speaker and it looks very good, but i haven't tested it with a meter yet. Did you ever find the problem with yours?

I should post what I found to be the culprit for the 60 Hz hmm. It turns out the A pillar cover was pinching the drain tube for the sun roof. Water was overflowing at the sun roof onto the headliner and down the A pillar, shorting on a electrical connection.
Thats what appears to be the culprit anyway.

Has anyone found a definite fix to this problem? This happens to my 2010 LR4 HSE while the ignition is on or off.

For me it was the amplifier under the front passenger seat.
I ordered one from a junk yard as they're stupid expensive new and it fixed my problem.

Just had the same thing happen to me and found this. For me....I think it was because I was working on replacing the rear left power window motor. I gave the switch connector a shot of electrical contact cleaner. I figured it may not have dried completely. Pulled it out...was quiet. Put it back, got a static pop. Pulled it back out. Let it dry more popped it back in and has been quiet for about 10 minutes. Might just be moisture.

Jwlitt1- did you figure out what caused this loud noise? I’m having the same issue to my 2014 HSE. Was it just the amplifier in the front seat? Any recommendations would be appreciated it!

Yes it was just the amplifier for me. I went through the entire can bus fiber loop unplugging each step along the way. It was all good up until the amplifier.
Once i replaced the amp it all worked as it should.
