jp,

It sounds like you have a cut 'n dry Lemon Law Case. The process can take some time and effort, but it does get results. Often the lawyers do not take any money until the time you've won your settlement.

I went with these guys:

I can't really give you the particulars of my settlement, but let's just say I'm happy enough about it to refer the attorneys to you.

I agree, I believe it is a good case for Lemon Law however I've read over the laws for both Washington and Oregon (where I bought the car) and both of them say that a filing can only be made within the first 30 months after delivery if you are the original purchaser. We took delivery in May of 05 which puts me at just over 32 months.

Whats the time frame in which the 3rd fix was made ? if before the 30 month dead line ... you have a case.
I had one of the first 2004 F-150's it was a buy back.

To date, all 5 times it's been in for this issue have fallen within the first 30 months. This will be the 6th time it's been in for the same leak. The last "fix" lasted almost 1 year before we noticed it leaking again.

I fully plan on discussing with them a replacement LR3 when I go in on Tuesday. My family absolutely LOVES the LR3 but having water get in through something that should never leak is absurd.

Thanks for that link. I emailed them for a free consultation to see if they think I'm eligible. It'll give me more ammo on Tuesday when I take the truck in for repair/discussion.

You're welcome; and that's the best approach, have them look at it.

I am not sure I interpret the law in WA to be the same as you mention above. For a non-conformity such as yours, at least ONE failure-to-fix has to occur within 24 months or 24,000 miles. The rest are not time-limited as I understand....ask the lawyers.

Good luck. Do you live in Oregon? Are you a Duck or a Beaver fan?

Lemon laws are a good threat, but I don't know if it's worth it for a leaky drain. I just wish they'd fix the damn thing. How hard can it be to get it right the first time.

I live in Washington (Vancouver) but bought the LR3 in Portland. From what I can tell I'm subject to Oregon laws but either state have good lemon laws..

The first time we noticed the leak was 1.5 months after taking delivery.

Not a Duck or Beaver fan. I don't really keep up with sports. I'm a computer geek.. I'm an Intel fan!

It's most definately not a leaky drain. There is substantial water ingress into the cabin. This morning when I got in to take it to the dealership over a cup of water dumped out of the headliner and onto the floor, down the windshield and into the dash, down the a-pillar, etc.

My biggest concern now is how much damage has been done to electrical components in the dash, A-pillar air bag, floor boards, sound proofing, carpet, etc.

At this point, I want a new LR3. Either that or this one fixed AND a lifetime warranty on it to cover any hidden damages that I'm sure exist and will show their face in a few years after the factory warranty expires.

...of all the known issues out there; this one would frustrate me the most. I've been lucky not to experience it. What year is your rover, Tommity?
