    LR3 roof rack Cross Bars whistling noise

    I tried the Velcro trick. Am I doing something wrong? It definitely helped to reduce some of the whistle, but it is still noticeable after 50mph. Any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking of trying another piece of soft Velcro on the front portion as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Nah, that sounds like the bushings are shot on the control arms. It's the most common LR3 issue and the LR4 shares the same parts.

    At certain speeds -- not just when braking. Mine happened to occur around 50-53mph.

    Thank you very much! This is exactly the kind of list I was looking to find. I have to be honest -- that's a bit scary! Hope you get your pulsating issue fixed. I had the wheel vibration in my LR3 which were due to the bushings in the control arms wore out.

    Gotcha. The latch itself moves down, so I'm not quite sure what the purpose of the lubricant would be. Seems unlikely that I would need to replace a latch, I'll try to pick up some dry graphite spray tomorrow to see if that works.

    Hi there- Looks like the SC Sun finally started to wear down on my dash. Any recommendations to fix the line that started to develop? If not, i can live with it, but just want to make sure it doesn't get any worse. Any good products out there to help?

    Hey there- reviving an old thread. I tried lubricating the driver-side hood latch, but It's still not catching, even after a SERIOUS slam down on the hood. Anyone else have any ideas to fix this? Shakes like crazy on the highway.

    You bet -- it's a pretty unique noise. I would bank on it. I didn't have time to price out parts and labor, but i would definitely recommend getting the Timken Hub Assembly from partsgeek.com for $175, and make sure the labor isn't quoted at more than 1.5 hours. Link to Part
