Losing oil - burning smell
Oil leak found. On the back side of the valve cover. The leak finally spread around to where I could see some oil build-up trickling down to the exhaust manifold and bolts below. Going to order new gaskets and bolts and see if the problem is solved. -

99 Disco II w/125,000 miles I changed my oil this weekend and noticed that my Disco lost over a quart of oil since the last change just over two months ago. I am not leaking any fluids on the ground so I am assuming I am losing it thru the rings. I have also noticed a slight burning smell... -

Yes, it is the stock Air Intake cleaner off the shelf. Is that no good? -

SES light - MAF cleaner solves for a while
I did get the codes read at auto zone. I have them written down at home, but they were the corresponding codes to the MAF sensor and the two O2 sensors. The MAF cleaner spray seems to clear them all, but not for long. -

SES light - MAF cleaner solves for a while
My SES light goes on and off fairly often. I bought some MAF cleaner and sprayed down the MAF sensor good. The light turned off for a week and then came back on. Any suggestions on cleaning it better or is it time for a new MAF sensor? 99 Disco II with 115K. -

upkeep maintenance
99 Disco II with 115k miles I do a lot of driving for work to remote areas in the US. Trying to avoid any common things that would cause me to get stuck in the boonies. It runs fine, replaced the water pump and timing belt at 80k, replaced the alternator at 90k. I'm thinking that I should be... -

I had the codes read this morning at Auto Zone and it was P0161 which I was told is the O2 sensor. The vehicle has 107K miles on it. Do I replace the sensors or is it a problem that the sensors detect? -

Hood release lever not working
I was able to fix the cable without too much trouble. I detached the lever from the side wall and pulled the cable with a vice grip. The hood popped right up. A little lube around the lock and down into the cable seemed to clear it right up. Now she opens without trouble. -
