At the end of the day, everyone has their opinion as to which years and engines were better than others. If this is the truck you want, don’t let their opinion stop you. A used LR4 is still a used vehicle. Even the well cared for vehicles have issues, but then again, so do the new ones... -

x2 on the above...my gut reaction is that if the timing chain skipped, more than likely you have some valve/head/piston damage. But, perhaps if the skip is only 1 tooth you may be fine. Easy way to check is to run a compression check of the cylinders. That said, if it's the wiring... -

Well, the manual has pretty much nothing about the main bolts. All it tells me is that it's a cast iron main cap that is cross bolted for rigidity. It doesn't even list the torque specs for the mains. Seriously, this is ridiculous....there has to be something out there....that's why ARP... -
