Joey is 100% right! Get a Bilstein steering damper too. Lower quality ones will wear out fast. I bought a manual spring compressor (basically two long clamps) from a local auto parts store for $35 and put new front spring in in a couple of hours. Big difference in handling (better). Good... -

shocks not too hard and you can do them yourself. Four nuts hold down the shock towers under the hood and are easy to remove. The nut and bushings are a little tight space-wise on the bottom but you can get them off and back on with a little patience. Rears are pretty standard... -

Loose Steering 1996 Discovery SE7
Tie rod ends (four total) and new steering damper would probably help alot. British Atlantic has a kit that includes all four. Also order a tool to remove the tie rod ends. Fancy one will cost but a "pickle fork" is only a couple of bucks. Bilstein steering damper is the best. Less than... -

I reset it but it there was nothing to doing it. I thought about just removing it and I know it would do no harm but I figured I'd leave it in for now. Thanks for the O2 advice joey. I am ordering four replacements this morning from your guy. -

Found FREE Codes Website
I bought a code reader/deleter from Pep Boys for $80. It works on any 1996 and later vehicle, even my 2003 Chevy Venture van. It has a booklet with all of the codes and what they mean. It was a great inexpensive investment. -

Thanks Joey. 84k on the D1. Just reset my Service Engine light and I bet the O2 sensors have never been replaced. Are all four the same or do I order two pre catalyst and two post catalyst. I was checking the parts places on the web and I wasn't sure. Thanks again -

You can also reset the reminder by inserting a small jeweler's screw driver into the hole under the sticker on the relay while the ignition is on. You have to touch two metal prongs in the relay at the same time to reset. I just did it Sunday night. Somewhere way back there is a thread... -

Steering vibration on Discovery 1
Tires!!! and as Joey wrote, steering stabilizer. Tire balance and wear. I had the death wobble in the worst way on my 97 SE7. New tires got rid of the worst of it but a new Bilstein stabilizer really did the trick. Check allignment too. -

Put new Bilstein steering damper in and reset front allignment. Drove from Chicago to Indy and back. Felt like brand new. Old steering damper (not Bilstein) less than a year old and it was shot. -
