Except that I had rough idle and no "solution" from dropping into third, but the VSS cured both. Damned handmade trucks!

Now if only I could cure the flickering oil light I am battling....

I know how to fix a flickering oil light.... just unplug it or cover with electrical tape...


But to fix the acual issue that is causing the flickering light may be a little harder

Yeah, yeah, yeah....I already heard that from a friend.

I'm just having a real hard time wrapping my mind around the "solution" found elsewhere, which was to replace the oil filter. I thought the light was for oil level, not pressure, on a D1....

Maybe it's time to make this its own thread

Hi Guys. Sorry I havent replied sooner, but i have been away on business, but had time to drop it in the stealership to read the codes, and they showed the Lamba sensors????? could this be right. Just running around town there is no problem, but hit the highway and maintain a constant speed and it re-occurs. Many thanks to everyone for their comments so far.

97 Disco SE7. 85000 miles.

Oil Light Flicker: Drop pan and clean screen on intake line.

Lambda Sensors: Same problem. After 200 miles of highway driving a code for the O2 sensor would trip. Plus fuel economy took a nose dive. Changed the O2 sensors (4). Everything seems ok. No more O2 sensor codes but I got one for catalyst efficiency dropped below minimum coming back from Michigan last week. I cleared the code and drove to St. Louis yesterday and it tripped going down but not coming back.

Joey? Help! Does this mean the catalytic converters are going south? Bad fuel? EGR? Any thoughts?

Tommy33, remember when the O2 start going bad, you use more fuel. When you use more fuel it will start to burn up the Cats....

You can have the cats tested for free at most good muffler shops, or you can plan on changing them or if you have not Emesions laws (I do not suggest this for legal reasons).... you decide for your self how to make them work better

Did it last spring. If it's clogged again, I've got some real sludge issues going on underneath there.
