    Feedback from LandRover themselves?

nwoods, that's a great list. This past March, I was the subject of a Land Rover focus study. For 3 1/2 days, a film crew from the UK filmed me and my family as we went about our normal lives and how LR3 fit into all of that. I was interviewed for about 8 hours, some of that was in or around...

    Looking for Advice

That's unfortunate about the scratch on your door. Things like that drive me nut's, door dings are the worst. Here is the best advice you'll ever find on how to overcome the angst of that paint job. Go offroad! Find a trail that is just a little too overgrown. Head right down the middle...

Anyone Regret Choosing a Black LR3?

I've had a Java Black DII and a LR3. It's anoying that they hit for an extra $400.00 in the purchase price. Just like the previous posts, it looks great when clean, shows every dent, and gets dirty quickly. The only other issue, the black shows EVERY imperfection in the sheet metal. While...

    Bluetooth Restart

This has happened to me twice. I disconnected the positive battery terminal and the Bluetouth started to work again. I think it's like removeing the battery from your laptop.

    Driver's Airbag module

Thanks for the comment. It doesn't seem like anyone else has had an airbag replaced. I looked at new vehicles on the lot and they had covers that touched the plasitc, not a great example of "fit and finish" but not a hugh gap either. I live in South Florida and both LR's (a 2002 DII and 2005...

    Problems with steering wheel surface

Check out my thread titled Drivers airbag module. The leather cover basically disintegrated. The dealer told me that the problem also happened to a batch of Range Rover wheels. They replaced the wheel without issue.

    Driver's Airbag module

Has anyone experienced a "warping" of the cover on the drivers airbag? At 22500 miles I directed my dealer to replace my steering wheel as the leather covering was peeling off. I also questioned the airbag cover because it seemed to be warping/curling up on the edges, particularly on the top...

    aux lights

I'll assume your light kit came with a switch and a relay. The high current draw of driving lights means that you can't wire them directly from the battery thru a switch and then to the lights. What your looking for is a switched power source. There are two choices, conveniently located...

    Nav Upgrade available ?

It's not worth it. I installed the new disk. I searched for for two locations (my mothers new development house in Atlanta and a local hospital that has been there for 25 years!) that weren't on the old disk. They still aren't on the new version. My guess is that no one is paying them to...

    Engine System Fault

Modern engines with synthetic oil will run quite a long time with no oil pressure. And at this point I don't think you have enough information to know if the truck was run dry. With a oil filter o-ring leak, you may have held some pressure, It may not have started to leak until just as the...

    Engine System Fault

Don't tell me, Land Rover South Dade is your servicing dealer. Mine too, and I've had issues with their service. Nothing as serious as yours though. BTW, the "O-ring" didn't slip on your oil filter. The o-ring from the old filter stuck to the block when it was removed. A new filter was...

    #&$^%* RATTLE!

I had a high pitch squeek that was coming from the cargo area. I climbed in back while my wife drove and isolated it to the lift gate. A little WD-40 on the latches and that was the end of it.

8.4 to 9.6 miles per gallon

My '05 hse routinely gets 17.5 plus mpg. Occasionally it's bettered 20! It's all to do with where I live (Florida Keys), no hills, high humidity, few traffic lights or stop signs, and it rarely goes above 60 mph. Most tanks are completed at an average speed in the low to mid 20's. A trip to...

Potential LR3 HSE Buyer: Scared Off

My '05 HSE has 11,820 mile without a single problem. My previous 2002 Discovery II had 65,000 miles with no serious problems (seat switch broke, power window mechanism failed) it never left me stranded or had an unscheduled dealer visit.

    Portable air compressor/Tire inflator

I had an ARB unit mounted on the inner fender of my D2. I plan on installing the same in my LR3. I don't know of a combined AC/DC unit. The ARB unit was nice as it included the wiring haness and switches. You'll need to buy extra fittings and hose to route an outlet to a bumper. I ran the...

How to removei shift knob ?

No turns required. Grasp firmly with two hands, lift upward. It pops right off. You may have broke some plastic engagement tabs inside the handle. No problem if your installing a new one.

    Misaligned Steering Wheel

My '05 HSE was off by a couple of degrees. The dealer is 200 miles away. I corrected it myself. Raise the vehicle to off road mode, lay down under the bumper and you can easily spot the tie rods. I believe you'll need a 22mm to back off the lock nut and a 15mm to turn the rod. Notice that...
