    Rearview mirror and MagnaDonnelly

Speaking of dweb, I've been witnessing some internet feuds there lately. It is hard to believe that some arguments go so far with adults. I play a game online with a bunch of young 'uns, and it is very similar. Silly stuff. montanablur: I know what you mean. The problem is, there is no...

    Rearview mirror and MagnaDonnelly

Cool. Good to hear the final manufacture of my disco's accessories wasn't finished on a backlot by Nigel and Graham in some unknown manner. ;) Thanks Heem

    Rearview mirror and MagnaDonnelly

I have an interesting question. And I have, of course, read the other thread(s) on this topic. My autodimming rearview mirror does not have a plug that connects it to the loom. Honestly, no plug. The wires are white, gray and black out of the back of the mirror, and go straight into the...

    O2 Sensor Question

www.obd2.com This is the one where you dl the software then use your laptop or desktop to interrogate the car. I think the total was around $150 for software and cables the guy supplied. So far I'm happy with it. A couple bugs yet to figure out. Mind you, it is not a polished...

    O2 Sensor Question

If money is no object, why not just replace the MAF at the same time? Heh heh... My obd2 scanner shows the values of the o2 sensors...I thought you had one, Melissa?

Replacement rear view mirror for D1

A question about the 'plug'. Where did everyone find the plug? How far up the wires did you have to go to find a plug? My wiring goes directly into the loom. No plug. What the heck, people? Was this vehicle built by hand or something? Someone party a little hard the night before...

Replacement rear view mirror for D1

I'm patiently waiting for my mirror as well. I'm just thankful that they say they will replace it at all. I don't mind waiting, and who uses their mirrors in LA anyway? Hah!

    Speakers

Rear...I mean back door speakers. Heh. Sorry.

    Speakers

The rear door speakers. They're attached in the middle to the amplifier. No place I've talked to could fit something in there without doing some custom work.

    Speakers

I'm curious how you replace the rear speakers. They're attached in the middle by the amplifier, making direct fit impossible for replacement upgrades. Let us know please.

    Speakers

I'm sure you know that all the miscellaneous speakers don't help much with the bass...just the 'subs' in the rear. You just want to replace all the speakers. :P Why not fix the lack-of-bass issue first, then see if you really need the other speakers afterward?

Sludge found under valve covers, eeek!

So after finally, yes finally, getting to the valve cover gasker job I was hoping to do last weekend, I found a not-so-nice surprise under the valve covers. I thought I had found the hiding spot for a sludge monster... I cleaned the valve cover interior very well, took off the baffle thingy...

    Shifting into 4x4

It's always in 4x4 mode. The yellow light indicates the CDL (center differential lock) has been engaged. The CDL is engaged by moving the lever to the left, and disengages moving the lever to the right. You can do that while you're moving. Shifting the transfer case from high to low or low...

    manifold bolts/antiseize lubricant

This is great. I was worried I might be waiting here for a while not able to work on my car. Quick responses are sweet. hehe

    manifold bolts/antiseize lubricant

Always use antiseize lubricant on the manifold bolts? Oh, apparently LR recommends antiseize lube/grease on the manifold/head mating surface. Is this the exact same stuff as used on the spark plug threads and manifold bolts? Thanks

    Need opinions/answers...

My mileage was consistently around 20mpg while driving the freeways, and not pushing it over 65mph very often, driving conservatively. Once I moved to Hell-A :P my mileage decreased considerably, now that I have to do 75-80 just to keep up with traffic. Driving in town mostly here and some on...

    Tps

Sergei, you mean unplug the connector from the TPS or the MAF and take the reading on the unconnected plug? Does that work? I just bought a rave cd on ebay. Waiting for that to come in, and will check it out. Thank you all for your help. Without this place I'd be going to the dealer or...

Really. I'm colorblind...about as colorblind as a person can be. Red/green/yellow/blue/purple/etc. Someone just look at the attached pics and tell me what the colors are. Thanks. P.S. My gf used to make fun of what I would wear, and try to make me think it didn't match...

    Tps

Forgot something... I'm colorblind. I can't tell which wires on the TPS to test. I'm really at a loss here, and guessing just seems silly. Which of these wires on the 'TPS wires' attachment is red, and which is green? I struggled with myself for a while, but in the end, I really needed to...

    Plugging a refrigerant leak.

Mike and Monty, yes, I figured that would be the case. Just thought I'd ask if there was any home remedy to A/C stuff. A place here in Thousand Oaks, CA, gave me an estimate for the job. Evacuating and refilling the system - $105. Sealing the connection 1/2 hr. -$35. Four pounds of R-134a...

    Plugging a refrigerant leak.

What do you guys think about releasing the pressure through the low pressure side? I don't know totally how an A/C system works, so I'm unsure if the entire system will be drained at the same time or what....also whether the EPA would freak out if I released a bunch of R134A into the...

    Plugging a refrigerant leak.

It is a bummer then, that my exhaust leak is on the left manifold. Thank you for the info, however, as I see somebody else has already found it useful. :) No biggie, I picked up a nicely used one for $20 on ebay, $6 shipping.
