Replacement rear view mirror for D1
A question about the 'plug'. Where did everyone find the plug? How far up the wires did you have to go to find a plug? My wiring goes directly into the loom. No plug. What the heck, people? Was this vehicle built by hand or something? Someone party a little hard the night before...- Jeff Discos

The rear door speakers. They're attached in the middle to the amplifier. No place I've talked to could fit something in there without doing some custom work.- Jeff Discos

I'm sure you know that all the miscellaneous speakers don't help much with the bass...just the 'subs' in the rear. You just want to replace all the speakers. :P Why not fix the lack-of-bass issue first, then see if you really need the other speakers afterward?- Jeff Discos

Sludge found under valve covers, eeek!
So after finally, yes finally, getting to the valve cover gasker job I was hoping to do last weekend, I found a not-so-nice surprise under the valve covers. Shifting into 4x4
It's always in 4x4 mode. The yellow light indicates the CDL (center differential lock) has been engaged. The CDL is engaged by moving the lever to the left, and disengages moving the lever to the right. You can do that while you're moving. Always use antiseize lubricant on the manifold bolts? Oh, apparently LR recommends antiseize lube/grease on the manifold/head mating surface. Is this the exact same stuff as used on the spark plug threads and manifold bolts? Thanks- Jeff Discos

My mileage was consistently around 20mpg while driving the freeways, and not pushing it over 65mph very often, driving conservatively. Mike and Monty, yes, I figured that would be the case. Just thought I'd ask if there was any home remedy to A/C stuff. A place here in Thousand Oaks, CA, gave me an estimate for the job. Evacuating and refilling the system - $105. Sealing the connection 1/2 hr. -$35. Four pounds of R-134a...- Jeff Discos

It is a bummer then, that my exhaust leak is on the left manifold. Thank you for the info, however, as I see somebody else has already found it useful. :) No biggie, I picked up a nicely used one for $20 on ebay, $6 shipping.- Jeff Discos
