    FWIW, wholesale auction values of used 2006 and 2007 have not been so high in a while. There are 47 LR3 to be sold here at Manheim's location near me in Detroit on July 2, and the recent historical sales prices strike me as pretty high. Maybe this is because gas prices are still low (for now)...

    Does LR specify Castrol as factory fill, as does Audi? I also think Valvoline Synth is good and a good value, plus it's on the Audi approved oil list (along with many others) so it's passed certain tests.

    Um, sorry, I'm not that good with this hacking business, but I'm pretty sure you meant that the 1791 hack works in 2005 and 2006 LR3 only so long as they have not used an updated DVD from 2007 or newer. It worked in our 2006 HSE. The DVD for 2007 is when the software change first appeared...

    I think I posted specs before, but rotors also wear down over time and then require replacement. Requires a micrometer to measure, but I bet it takes a while to get there naturally.

    It's worth $31000 (edited down from $34000 based on LR3Virgin's post below!) when you drive it off the lot, but only $20,000 in 3 years time if gas prices are not $4 to $5 then (fat chance no, then all bets are off), so that's a good head start on depreciation savings.
