Then don't drive your car, god forbid you stress it.

    Parking brake

And this folks is why us engineers don't like to try explaining things to sales people. Continue being a retard -- the world won't end.

    Parking brake

No, you have no understanding as to how an automatic transmission works. Again, there is a pin that slides in to lock the transmission -- not thousands of tiny gears. The movement associated before the pin can lock into place is the cause for ocassional movement when putting a car into park...

    Parking brake

When the car is in park the transmission is locked via a shaft .... there is zero stress to worry about here..... Put the car in park, apply the brake too if you want.

Virtually every car does this. Sigh.

About to purchase a '00 Disco II w/ ACE

We loved our Tonga 01 SE7 with ACE. But you have to know what you are getting into. They drive like buses, make noises like buses and are prone to wind leaks. Ours never had any issues outside of a failed MAF and served as a great vehicle for guests to use when visiting us in the...

woke up yesterday morning, got myself an LR3...

05 LR3 here -- zero issues. The vocal minority is the rule of thumb on this forum.

    Hey LR are you listening?

I don't read anyone defending your childish actions. Again, grow up, write a letter to Land Rover if you have so many complaints. It is unfortunate that the vocal minority can shit it up for the unvocal majority. Most of us do not share your bitterness nor your lack of maturity and eloquence...

    Hey LR are you listening?

Your first post was in poor taste -- this post shows us that you really are an ass. Why not send a letter to LRNA? Let me be the one to say that this bitter person does not speak for all of us. We have experienced zero issues, have no real gripes about the vehicle (at least no more or...

    Wrangler HP tread life

Stockers are fine in the snow. Our driveway in the mountains genearlly has 1-3 feet of snow this time of the year at a 10 percent grade for 200 feet. Zero issues.

Very cold weather = warning lights

When our LR3 had about 700 miles on it this time last year we were passing through KC during a cold snap of sub zero weather. On startup one morning it threw all manner of warning lights -- icons that I have never seen nor do I know what all of them meant. A restart fixed the issue. Fast...

    Problems With the LR3

Just remember that people don't complain about the good things -- which is to say that the most vocal group of folks are the ones with issues -- on any board, Honda, Toyota, Land Rover etc. We have owned 2 LR's for over 5 years total and had nothing but a great experience. Only a single fault...

2005 Truck Trend Ultimate 4x4 Challenge

The Jeep does not seat 7 people in complete comfort. I've had a new grand cherokee as a rental -- nice truck no doubt, but I still prefer the LR3.

    Problems With the LR3

It states as much in the manual. Release the parking brake BEFORE you put it into reverse and things work fine and as intended. 12,000 miles, no problems here. Ours goes in for the oil next week and the wife is going to have them fix an occassional leak near the front interior light. Denver...

    Parking sensors delay

That isn't a problem -- that is the way they are. In fact I believe it even states as much in the manual.

Should I Be Afraid To Buy 2006 Lr3

Our 01 SE7 Disco was a gem, one unscheduled trip to the dealer in nearly 4 years. Likewise our LR3 has been faultless. The wife did mention she saw some water leak from the overhead light a few weeks back -- so we will have that checked out at the next oil change.

    Road Noise?

Our Disco would cup the front tires (even with rotations) within 20k miles and the result was a terrible amount of racket. It seems odd that yours would make so much noise so early. Alignment would seem to be the likely suspect. Imagine seeing your 911 turbo doing 2X the speedlimit passing you...

    Sluggish/Roaring V8 From A Start?-Read

While I can't speak for the LR3 in particular -- in most cars it is not a job you should be scared of. The biggest concern with most modern motors being your ability to reapply the various covers and bits that must come off. Pretty engines seem to be all the rage.

    Oil Change Experience

The stock tires are fine on ice -- and snow. Of course different areas get different types of snow but the only thing that stopped our LR3 last winter in Summit County was snow deep enough that the truck began to run on top of it. Then out came the shovel -- and the nagging "why did you do...

    Low hanging exhaust....(long)

Then don't have moderators acting in an asslike manner. I would assume given the number of times this board has gone down for lack of payment that the level of maturity all around is rather low -- but there is no need to confirm such assumptions with immature moderator responses.
