    Oil change - how often?

8 quarts of 5/30w for an oil change. I just provide two of the large Mobil1 jugs - and tell the service greeter to include it in the notes for the service.

Anyone want to be in the Gumball Rally?

I hear that LRL are in need of a LR vehicle at short notice - to take part in the Gumball rally that starts in Santa Monica on Saturday. Ideally a RR or LR3 - owner can get access to some of the rally etc, get their vehicle on TV etc etc. Car would be out for 2 weeks crossing the US and then...

    LR3 Tire Question

A local dealership recommended Toyo Proxes STII I've had them on for 7000 miles now, and they are fantastic. Very smooth and quiet ride - fantastic grip in the wet and dry. The tread pattern is unique, and a significant step up from other manufacturers 'block' patterns. Can't recommend them...

    Breakaway Front Differential

Was that LR Scottsdale? I'd immediately let LRNA know, then contact the dealership manager, and tell them you've reported the issue, and will be looking to them for a suitable resolution and compensation. Explain it's not just a technical issues, but a customer satisfaction issue. See...

    Tire Advice

I went with Toyo Proxes STII for excellent performance on the stock 18" rims. Proxes STII have a revolutionary tread pattern which is super quiet on the road, and provides superior wet weather performance. Yet it's still aggressive enough for off road use. Speed and weight ratings match or...

Should I bother putting the OE GoodYear Wranglers back on?

I'd say the Toyo's would meet your needs then - can't even believe how much better that the OEM tires they are. More positive steering, and super silent on the freeway. They are correctly speed rated and weight rated - I got the heads-up from a local dealership who had been using them on RRS...

Should I bother putting the OE GoodYear Wranglers back on?

Paul, you on-road mostly - or off-road? The Scorpions are better than the GoodYears, but not by much IMHO. For on-road use, I went with Toyo Proxes ST II - awesome tire, great grip and stunning wet weather performance - and so much quieter than the Goodyears!

    Hardwiring Valentine One radar detector

'reaching the detector while driving would require chimp arms' - you see, if you had a decent detector with a mute button on the power plug, you wouldn't need to get all chimpy! LOL I know lots of people love the V1 - but it simply has no way of matching the new GPS enabled detectors. Add to...

    Hardwiring Valentine One radar detector

Two points to note: 1) V1 is notorious for giving many false positives - Better units are available 2) Mounting high on windshield will almost certainly mean that you won't detect a laser hit on your vehicle, as a LiDAR beam is only 18" wide at opperating range, and the LEO is trained to point...

    Buying Advice

Sounds like too many negatives - failed SMOG and dealer declining warranty - stay away Plenty more out there - with no issues - Craigslist is your friend. Just looked at my local listing, and you have 3 or 4 to choose from at that price

    LR3 Interior Care

Had the same issue with my D2 - it has the light leather, and gets a blue shade from jeans. The Connolly cleaner and hide food gets it clean - and you're right, keeping the leather well conditioned does help repel staining/dirt.
