    Question for '07 Owners

I've had my 07 HSE for almost 2 years (had an 06 before this one). Haven't had a major issue with either of them, unless you count things that I broke on the trail, but were fixed under warranty . Been about 25k miles since I got the truck, and it's got almost 52k on it now. Paul

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

Thanks Nathan! As for the CB antenna, it only kind of sucks. I used a NGP antenna (like for fiberglass boats), which doesn't have as strong of a need for the metal reflective surface. It's also not nearly as tune-able as a standard antenna, so I can only get several hundred yards...

    DIY with Factory Warranty?

Brian - I've heard good things about the CO Springs dealership...glad to hear they treated you right. Also good to hear that your exposure to Flatirons has been good so far. The service advisers (Paul & Randy) are generally great guys, and I've been on a few offroad trips with the Service &...

    DIY with Factory Warranty?

What's up, and welcome to the forum! I'm from the area (Denver), and I'll go ahead and make the assumption that you bought your truck at Flatirons since you live up that way. I have bought several trucks from those folks, and regularly change my own oil, etc. They have never given me a hard...

2010 Land Rover National Rally in Moab - what LR3 owners need to know

I decided today that I'll be going. Will be driving in from Denver on Wednesday the 20th. I'll be solo, so it'd be nice to meet up with some people. -Paul

    NEW PRODUCT LR3/D3 Underbody Protection

^^^^^100% agree. The guys at Flatirons service my truck, and are great people...guess I fall into that "very loyal customer base." Dave even brought the shop truck (along with a trunk full of spare parts!) on a 4 day trip through western Colorado and Utah with myself and some friends. I would...

    Best tires for LR3

I've run the Nitto Terra Grappler A/Ts (285/65/18) on both of my LR3s, and I didn't notice a significant increase in noise from the stock tires. With the windows up, I don't hear anything but the wind on my roof rack... I also have (almost) no rubbing issues. In access mode, with the wheels...

-Off topic- What kind of car did you own before your LR3?

Before my current LR3, I had...a 2006 LR3. Before my LR3 obsession started I had: 2004 Discovery II 2000 Audi A6 1993 Civic hatch (motor swap, racing buckets, etc.) 1990 VW Corrado G60 (tastefully updated, then promptly stolen) 1998 Dodge Durango (my first vehicle, and possibly the worst...

    New issue-speaker

Does it happen regardless of input? Sometimes I get a crappy connection through my AUX jack, and lose half the speakers...if I wiggle the wires a bit they come right back. Just a thought. Good luck! -Paul

    Aftermaket Air Filters

I've been using a K&N in my LR3 (s) for the last 3.5-4 years...2 different trucks. Before that, I had one in my Disco II (and before that my Audi). I've never had a single problem related to the air filter, MAF or otherwise. The trick is to pay attention when you oil the filter...it should be...

    Storage/Sleeping Platforms?

Thanks guys. Nathan, Those drawers are pretty sweet! However, they are probably just slightly too tall for my largest dog to be able to stand up comfortably... I've started mocking up some ideas with Google Sketchup, and will likely contact Adventure Trailer to see what they think it...

    Storage/Sleeping Platforms?

Been looking at a bunch of these setups over at Expedition Portal, and am starting to consider building something for my LR3. Has anyone built a sleeping platform for the LR3 that also contains some storage drawers for gear? I see plenty of them in the back of Land Cruisers, etc., but it's hard...

Advice on a new vehicle? (to augment or replace the LR3)

I was told once (by my dealer) that the limit is stated as a function of how much weight you can add to roof before affecting the side hill rollover angle, rather than how much weight the rails can handle....may or may not be true. -Paul

Advice on a new vehicle? (to augment or replace the LR3)

Although I don't have kids, I figured I'll throw my opinion out there also, being that I frequently travel with my 2 dogs, wife and waaaayyyy too much stuff. In my opinion, the LR3 can't be beat (in its size class) for usable cargo space. The rear of the vehicle is square and tall, allowing...

    Denver Area Run 7/31?

It's been determined that myself and at least one other truck (a P38 Rangie) will be headed to the T-33A Plane Crash site near Boulder. We are meeting at the Starbucks at 3033 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder at 8:30AM. Feel free to meet us there if you'd like to tag along, but reply to the thread...

    Denver Area Run 7/31?

Ralph, Thanks for the heads up, but I actually ran most of mosquito pass and several other trails in that area two weeks ago. While it's a great trail, I was hoping to check out something different. I assume you'll be heading to mosquito this weekend? -Paul

SE/HSE, whcih one did you choose/why?

I've had both  Had an 06 SEV8, Tonga green first. It was a great truck, and had most options but was missing a couple of things that I now deem "necessary" in a newer model vehicle (i.e. bluetooth and NAV). Traded that in on my current LR3, a Java black 07 HSE. My brother in law...

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

Thanks everyone, it was a great time. And even with all those new model Rovers, we didn't have a single problem (aside from a couple of flat tires) over 4 days and 300 trail miles! We did bring a bunch of spares (suspension compressor, various sensors, etc.), just in case though...

I don't know why he stopped recording right there...maybe he was about to fall down the hill? There are a couple more short ones, but that one was the best representation of the hill that featured my truck  You can also just click back to the main page of the gallery. There are a...

    Cooper Zeon LTZ on LR3

Houm, Mine just barely touches with my 285's at full lock in normal height, so if you are running a narrower size (or running the rod mod full time) I would imagine that it's probably just not touching the wires. -Paul

    Cooper Zeon LTZ on LR3

Thanks Nathan. I've tried to pop that clip off, but it didn't seem to want to come out. Perhaps I just need to pull a little harder...I've found that usually works with this truck when in doubt.

    Cooper Zeon LTZ on LR3

Warning...thread jack :hello: First, let me say that I'm running a different tire (Nittos) in the same size, with about the same issues as everyone already listed (so nothing major). Now for my thread-jack...where is everyone relocating that wiring harness in the driver's front wheel well...
