I have an LR3 and stumbled on this thread. I'm glad I don't have the 3 amigos - it sounds nasty and very catchy. I'll take my missing fuel cap error message any day over that one. -

I would also like to hear about some beginner off road areas. My car was bought as a drive-on for Duxbury beach, but piping plovers have caused a shut down and I'd like to put my rig through the paces elsewhere.- Bostonian

Thanks Paul. I was hoping someone had extras they don't want. Somehow I have a hard time swallowing that it's $10/nut or a new set is almost $200. They're lug nuts for crying out loud!!! Thanks for the link to AB, though. -

Maybe the admin can move this for me, I wasn't allowed to post in the wanted section. Some of the chrome caps on my lug nuts are failing so I am either looking for about 10 chrome capped lug nuts or a full set of the non-bling lug nuts without the caps. Please PM me if you want to sell yours. -

LR3 Tow Safty chains no good place to hook to
I can't say for your setup, but my chain loops are on either side of the area that the receiver hitch slots into. -

66k iles Yellow engine light on
I got the loose gas cap warning randomly last fall in addition to a few other errors that would eventually just go away. This was generally on cold mornings, and my fix was to replace the battery and there have been no random faults since then. -

Control arm bushings and ball joints
Is there a cheaper alternative than Atlantic British for these control arms? My wallet still stings from Fridays epb actuator and shot brake shoe replacement. -

Can you help clear up conflicting information I have on these items? I've had a tech tell me and have read here that the whole control arm assembly needs to be replaced instead of the degrading ball joints and bushings in the front lower control arms. Ouch, the actuator gears are fried. $800 part + 4 hours labor - appx. $1,200. -

FYI - The indie repair shop 'Overlander' in South Boston quoted me $1261 for an actuator replacement. He's trying to convince me it will need to be replaced, I hope Trynian is right and it is just an adjustment needed - at a labor rate of $97/hour -
