    Post body-shop issues

I had some minor dings popped out and my car was returned to me in a less than perfect condition. The body work itself was well done. Unfortunately, the driver and passenger side power seats aren't working, and neither are the controls for the rear view mirrors. I am also getting the...

I've got the Three Amigos, code reader reads nothing!

I have an LR3 and stumbled on this thread. I'm glad I don't have the 3 amigos - it sounds nasty and very catchy. I'll take my missing fuel cap error message any day over that one.

    New member - LR3/New England

I would also like to hear about some beginner off road areas. My car was bought as a drive-on for Duxbury beach, but piping plovers have caused a shut down and I'd like to put my rig through the paces elsewhere.

    Lucky8 Steelie Wheels - Question

Regarding the lug nuts, check out my thread a couple down about the same issue I have, you can buy new ones but they are spendy.

    WTB - 06 LR3 Lug Nuts

Thanks Paul. I was hoping someone had extras they don't want. Somehow I have a hard time swallowing that it's $10/nut or a new set is almost $200. They're lug nuts for crying out loud!!! Thanks for the link to AB, though.

    WTB - 06 LR3 Lug Nuts

Maybe the admin can move this for me, I wasn't allowed to post in the wanted section. Some of the chrome caps on my lug nuts are failing so I am either looking for about 10 chrome capped lug nuts or a full set of the non-bling lug nuts without the caps. Please PM me if you want to sell yours.

LR3 Tow Safty chains no good place to hook to

I can't say for your setup, but my chain loops are on either side of the area that the receiver hitch slots into.

66k iles Yellow engine light on

I got the loose gas cap warning randomly last fall in addition to a few other errors that would eventually just go away. This was generally on cold mornings, and my fix was to replace the battery and there have been no random faults since then.

Control arm bushings and ball joints

Is there a cheaper alternative than Atlantic British for these control arms? My wallet still stings from Fridays epb actuator and shot brake shoe replacement.

Control arm bushings and ball joints

Can you help clear up conflicting information I have on these items? I've had a tech tell me and have read here that the whole control arm assembly needs to be replaced instead of the degrading ball joints and bushings in the front lower control arms. Atlantic British sells the individual parts...

    Park Brake fault

Ouch, the actuator gears are fried. $800 part + 4 hours labor - appx. $1,200.

    Park Brake fault

FYI - The indie repair shop 'Overlander' in South Boston quoted me $1261 for an actuator replacement. He's trying to convince me it will need to be replaced, I hope Trynian is right and it is just an adjustment needed - at a labor rate of $97/hour

Indie LR tech / south shore Massachusetts

Thanks Paul. I will keep Bennett's off of the list. I want to also avoid LR Hanover if I can help it but just may end up there. If nobody else reading this has a specific suggestion, is there another forum they can suggest where I can ask the same question?

    Front axle grinding noise

Gents - I have recently been experiencing an intermittent grinding noise coming from the front axle. It sounds metallic and almost like really squeaky brakes and also like something is loose and metal is coming into contact with metal. It was prominent for a short ride yesterday, but today while...

    Park Brake fault

Funny enough, it does sound like a banshee. To my ears, it also sounds a lot like $800 flying out of my wallet. Any idea what that might cost?

    Park Brake fault

I got a nasty grinding sound when applying the park brake this morning (while stationary.) I got the Park Brake fault message on the screen as well. I know it's not the brake switch as I recently replaced that to resolve the pre-Christmas tree-lighting of my dashboard. I shut the car off and the...

1,000 mile review / Nitto Terra Grappler

I finally pulled the trigger on a new set of tires and decided on the terra grapplers, 255/60/18. Overall they are excellent and I'm very happy with the purchase. We've been hit with two fairly decent snow storms so I had a chance for some first hand experience in ice, snow, slush, water and dry...

    Unhappy LR4
