95 disco, no high beams
Read your post over again (2) times. If you pull the sw back, the high beams work - when you let go, they go off. If it does that consistantly, My money's on the switch. I've had mine out several times, it's almost easy, but I once did put one of the sliding contacts in backwards (once.)... -

Sky is falling
I'd liken it to a dense styrofoam. I pulled down some of my liner, shop vacuumed off as much of the dried ,flakey, nightmare as I could w/brush attachment. followed instructions perfectly on can of contact spray, reattached carefully, within a week, another spot was sagging. It's like... -

How many pounds an hour are the fuel injectors?
cool- virtually every source I've found & by my formulae I need about 16#inj. @ 35psi fuelrail to make my 180hp @ 80% duty cycle. I'm certain that these would be better than my 130k mi originals that click their little brains out . sides, it's fun I'll post luck,greg -

radio issues
I believe there's (3) radio options, with the cd you're either mid or premium. there's amps in the doors for door speakers, don't know if they're fused seperately. I'd unplug your cd changer (the din plug) & see if that affects the radio. pull the covers off the speakers & gently move... -

Disco will not turn over
What joey said, the symptoms are logical with a major short (possibly intermittent) the (3) new alternators didn't like the heavy loads & probably blew their rectifiers (diodes) the resulting low voltage probably causes your lights & acc's to flicker. not to mention beating the crap out of... -

according to the rave electrical diagram, the green/purple goes to your - high stop, left & right stop, & your trailer lights connector. the harness that I mentioned runs outside the frame rail, visible by poking your head under driver's door. (but it's still sending me high stoplight/rear... -

yup, I was under mine today, I noticed a major bundle on outside of frame rail driver's side I hate to say cut the shield in the middle, find the wire, cut it, see which end is grounded. You did unplug the light housings (mine was shorted randomly pass side brake bulb holder, gave me fits)... -

Headlights
you've already pulled the connectors (clean?) & of course you've checked for voltage to ground @ the connectors. If the fuse(s) are good, you have voltage, connectors are clean, then your bulbs are burned out. (two low & one high) don't know where the headlight relay is, but since one... -

I'm not sure, but something tells me that they run back inside next to the door sill. (driver's side) If you look @ the left taillight plug, isn't there a 2nd plug there that may come from the front? if so, unplug that & recheck your gr/wt for short. if it's gone, then that helps narrow... -

the rear stoplights may be shorting, try unplugging them & the wires @ rear window High stoplight. then see if it blows the fuse, I doubt it's your shifter solenoid. if the fuse doen't blow, try connecting lights until it does the third (high) brakelight has a habit of shorting to the... -

thx joey Naw, it doesn't the rave doesn't show much except exploded view of the components & the front housing looks like it just slides onto the mainshaft splines. I'll probably wait 'til spring & try it. then if it goes bad (tech stuff falls out on me), I'll yank the hole thing & go... -

'97 D1 xfer case front housing?
I freed my linkage last year, but my xfer would not lock (no light either). My gut says maybe one of the clips that pushes the shifter yoke is missing/broken inside the front housing. has anyone pulled their front housing w/o pulling the whole xfer case? :confused: luck,greg -

some readers (like mine) don't use all functions on all vehicles. Mine won't read my abs or trans, the icons flash a couple of times on start, then turn off. did you get instructions with your reader? if not, can you download same? luck,greg -

Rear Brake Pad Issue
I'm not sure how they can cock if they're the correct pads, as there's a bottoming rail cast into the caliper. The top of the pad has (2) stainless stabilizing clips holding the pad down onto rail? (@ least my '97 does) luck,greg -

Front end noise
My guess would be a dry CV joint - check the lube level in both your front swivel balls. check your ujoints as well. And do it really soon. You have no 4x4 option, it's all wheel drive, hi/lo, locked center diff in transfer case. And you should excercise all of it at least one a month... -

coolant leaking out of head gasket
fill the rad (cold) thru the plug on top - that will minimize trapped air. then the tank 1/2 way up By wiggling the fan you'll probably only feel the fan clutch bearings - you have to release the tension on the belt idler to wiggle the water pump bearing - at least I did on mine. luck,greg -
