Impressed with Towing (6600lbs)
Some good info here on this thread. Thanks guys. May be pulling our '09 Sea Ray 270 SLX with the LR4 in the near future. Will be close to max capacity. Dry weight of the boat is 5600lbs plus 500-600lbs in fuel, water, and gear, and about 1300lbs for a tandem axle trailer with hydraulic brakes...- bushway9172

Is it just me.....
Looking forward to the reviews as well... Don't think anyone has posted a personal review yet of driving the SCV6 vs. the V8. Thanks Daniel. I actually spoke with a few different trailer manufacturers this morning, and they are shooting for tongue weights lower than I first expected (300-400lb range). Didn't buy the LR4 thinking I'd be doing much towing, but things change, and I don't think I could give up the LR4 for...- bushway9172

I agree with you... I don't even think a 770lb tongue weight would be nearly enough to cause a failure. The sliding pin could be a failure point, but the whole assembly (as quirky as it is) seems really solid. Just curious MBW- what kind of hitch are you using (rise/drop/adjustable)?- bushway9172

I know this has been discussed in some older threads... but I'm still not very satisfied with the answers I've found... The LR4 is rated for a towing capacity of around 7700lbs, but the manual states a 550lb max tongue weight. There's some controversy around this number since the LR hitch...- bushway9172

Not sure if you got your answer to this already.... but for me, I can't really use access height. I suppose it depends on the wheels you go with. Issues with my LR4 2010 HSE
As far as brake pads and rotors go, you probably aren't going to find much sympathy here. It's a heavy truck and brakes don't last forever. I've had to replace mine as well.
