LR4 steering fluid leak
Start at the reservoir. It is attached to the driver side air intake. Just slide it out of its brackets and check the hoses beneath for residue, leakage, etc.- Michael Gain

Is it safe to drill holes in the seat pedestal?
The only thing under there should be your front prop shaft. Maybe a wayward harness or two. May I ask why you don't just mount it to the plastic finisher on the seat itself?- Michael Gain

2011 LR4 Lower Control Arm Replacement/Front Shock Compression issue
Definitely need to deflate the strut. I ended up ditching the Jack and pressing it into place by hand--Definitely impossible without deflating. Barring access to the gap tool, @DaytonaRS7 suggestion is the best.- Michael Gain

Ok. Smoke test did not show any leaks. So, at least that is good news. I cleared all the codes from running it without the MAF sensors and started it up. ECO light is still on, but truck runs great. We'll see what happens after a couple of drive cycles.- Michael Gain

Perfect. Find the electrical connector attached to the fan. Trace that connector's wires to make sure that none of the wires are grounding out. It is very complicated. Needlessly so. The Australians are lucky they didn't get that "luxury feature". They also got the diesel versions... I guess north American gas is cheaper though... I actually have an Aussie buddy or two and they are so much smarter than me lol.- Michael Gain
